Who We Are

KALPAVRIKSHA is a non-profit organization with a mission to impact the lives of less privileged children, enabling them to maximize their potential and change their lives. KALPAVRIKSHA works primarily in the field of education, addressing non formal education through the KALPAVRIKSHA centre and also formal education by initiating school reform. KALPAVRIKSHA supports each child by giving him or her strong educational foundation, a good time, self esteem and values, and to help them plan how they can earn a steady livelihood as a step towards improving their standard of living.

KALPAVRIKSHA believes that education is a fundamental right of every child. Every child deserves to be in school and learning well. All over the world we see a close correlation between levels of education and human development indices. Improper Education is the root cause of many of our problems. We need an education system which will be:

• Suitable to 90% of our population, who at present often opt to remain out of school.
• Work activity should be base for education.
• Learning should be by "Learning While Doing"
• Same quality of education to all. Technology is the best social equalizer.
• We must use modern technology to improve quality of education.
• We must do this within our present time, money and resources constraint.

KALPAVRIKSHA aims to make every child and youth self-reliant, thus creating a society of independent people living with dignity. KALPAVRIKSHA is committed to providing children with basic, quality and relevant education and their well being so that they can look towards a future built on a strong foundation. It will make them to make informed choices, resist oppression and claim their rights, besides opening new possibilities and opportunities for themselves. As it is every child's birthright and nothing else can compare or compete with it.
